For centuries ghosts and spirits have had their place in a variety of different cultures. The 21st century ushered in the technology era, which sparked many people's interest on proving that ghost exist or at least attempting to make sense of it all.
In 2004, an American paranormal reality television series called Ghost Hunters premiered in October of that year. Although the TAPS team weren't the first to have a show about ghosts and ghost hunting, they have certainly lead the way for other shows and ghost hunters in the nation.
As the years progressed, the show expanded to Ghost Hunter's International and Ghost Hunters Academy. They have become a household name and have inspired others to start their own ghost hunting groups to do their own investigations.
Because this field has no absolutes, each ghost hunting group may have different beliefs about the paranormal and how to gather potential evidence. Some groups may consider ghost hunting just a fun hobby, whereas others take the paranormal research field more seriously.
